RHYTHM SPOTLIGHT.
Rhythm Spotlight is a lively urban street style dance competition held within the early months of the new year at Penn State's very own HUB-Robeson Center. Both dancers from all over the country and Penn State students are invited to attend this special event.
It is split into two categories: 1) a 2v2 Bboy/Bgirl battle 2) a 1v1 All-Styles battle The competitors dance in a dim-lit room with a spotlight on the main dance floor, hence the name "Rhythm Spotlight". The winners of each category will receive a monetary prize. For each category, three judges are chosen to critique the battles of the night. This event also incorporates live entertainment with a disc jockey/DJ and a Master of Ceremony/MC. Rhythm Spotlight has been pushing to promote a fun and “old-school” type of feel by promoting cyphers (circles of dancers), great music, and talented hip hop dancers. Some notable dancers who have come to Rhythm Spotlight to either judge or compete: DOMkey (Lionz of Zion), Knuckles (Repstyles), Chem (Floor Obsessions), Fleg (Lionz of Zion), Atomic Goofball (Lionz of Zion), Smart Mark (IamPhresh), SamO (X-Fenz), Pete Nasty (Repstyles), Napalm (Lionz of Zion), Ookie, Ruffio, Omen (Supreme Beings), Firelock, Jaja Vankova (IaMmE), etc. Check more info for Rhythm Spotlight 2020: https://goo.gl/RnMW8C |
